You've probably never heard of it, but Hydroxyapatite, (HA) makes up more than 70% of our bone and tooth mass! It is one of the most widely studied materials for strengthening bone to date. It is able to remineralize the teeth by bonding directly to the tooth surfaces where they may be missing minerals due to erosion. It has recently been gaining strides in the fight against enamel erosion, cavities and other dental/bone problems by being used in toothpaste. Studies are showing that Hydroxyapatite may be a wonder, because it can do what fluoride/sealants claim to do, but in a safe and healthy manner. As you may know, Fluoride can be extremely harmful to the human system and is known to cause adverse health effects, and even more so in children, who tend to use too much toothpaste, (making them susceptible to fluorosis/fluoride poisoning). Because HA is recognized by the human body as something that belongs there, it is safe. In case you don't think all this is enough, HA also makes teeth whiter, even more so than fluoride! HA does this not by bleaching or chemicals, but by hardening the enamel, which is the most visible part of the teeth. When teeth turn off-white/ yellow, it is because the enamel is thinning and what is beneath, (dentin) is showing through, which is actually gray/yellow. In studies, Hydroxyapatite fared equally to Fluoride in toothpastes, but without the harmful effects.
Undoubtedly, Hydroxyapatite is the obvious choice!

Our mouths are the first line of defense when it comes to anything we take into our bodies on a daily basis, as well as housing our precious pearly whites. Taking good care of this delicate portal to our bodies is one of the essentials for maintaining good health and a beautiful smile. Healing clays are one of nature’s most basic and earthy little miracles that have been around for millennia. Bentonite clay is a form of volcanic ash that gets its name from the largest known deposit in Fort Benton, Wyoming, USA. It has some unique properties that make it good little vacuum cleaner for your mouth’s hygiene. When bentonite clay gets wet it expands and changes its electrical charge to a negative charge and becomes like a big sponge that can absorb huge amounts of toxins such as heavy metals. At the same time this special mud replaces what it takes away with a gift of healthy, strengthening and replenishing minerals, such as silica, calcium and magnesium.
Bentonite clay is excellent because it’s so good at absorbing toxins and neutralising bad bacteria. It binds to heavy metals and toxins around your teeth and gums and gives back an array of minerals that are good for remineralising your teeth. It’s a detoxing, nurturing oral mineral tonic. It has an alkalising effect too which is beneficial for the health of your teeth and gums, especially as some of the food we eat can create excess acidity in our mouths. By mopping up excess build-up it can even help whiten our teeth.

Cloves are a common spice that comes from a clove tree. They are mainly used in tea and mulled drinks. They are also used as a component in gingerbread. However, above and beyond this, clove powder works as an anti-fungal, and antiviral. This is why cloves are used to cure different health problems such as a toothache, cough, sore gums, indigestion, asthma, mouth ulcers, and stress. Cloves contain a strong anaesthetic known as eugenol which similarly works as an antiseptic to fight bacteria that may cause infections. That is why cloves are so effective at fighting cavities.
